CCT~ 'dieing for a punch' card plus my failed 1st attempt!

Hello.  It's CCT time again and this week's theme is called 'dieing for a punch' which means a card withOUT using any dies or punches.  Don't know whose bright idea that was! (yes, me) as I found it harder than I thought it would and I was dieing to reach for my dies and punches!  Here's what I ended up using good old decorative scissors and lots of Viva Decor glitter pen

The image (High Hopes) is decoupaged (love those feet!) and the paper is very busy (WRMemorykeepers I think) so didn't think it needed much else.  It looks a bit 'blah'  now that I look at the photo but it's better IRL as it's very 3D (see 2nd photo) - honest!

This wasn't actually my original card I started to make for this challenge.  That would be this one using a Kraftin Kimmie image which I thought was nice and big so would be the main focal point and wouldn't need much else.  That was until I realised I had actually cut the image out with my nestie die and then I wanted to layer it with another die D'oh!  hence had to come up with the one above!

The papers on this one are from MME 'paperie stack' and then it was just lots of faux stitching, lace trim and paper roses to finish. As always (well, most of the time) images have been coloured with Copics.

Well that's my lot for this week I think. I've got few images coloured up and plenty of others stamped ready to go but just not finding the time/mojo to do much with them at the moment (though still no problem buying more stash >.< ) so thanks for still visiting.

Hello! Hope you're having a good week so far. It's time for another CCT card and this week it's a sketch by yours truely. I'm afraid it's nothing too exciting but hope it's usable - be gentle with me, it's the first sketch I've done/shared.

welcome home

Oops! Knew there was something I hadn't done. I was supposed to have scheduled this for the weekend but forgot.  (Went to watch Toy story 3 instead - had me in tears at the end LOL)  Anyway, here's the other card I made last week. It's a welcome home card for my sister (she's moved back to the UK last week into house just round the corner from me and my other sister!) so thought I'd use these cute houses from a Greeting Farm stamp set. It's a lot cuter in real life as the middle house is decoupaged and raised, along with the flower pots and the banner but it all looks a bit flat in the photo.

Just used some cloud paper (American Crafts) and some of my Martha border punches (fence & grass). The banner was just cut out free hand and I added some embroidery thread and the houses coloured with copics and some stickles added for bit of sparkle.  Then 3 heart gems to finish and job done.

Will be back Thurs with my CCT card and possibly another one if I remember to schedule it for the weekend.  Till then,

CCT Treemendous : Christmas Tree

Hello and welcome to another CCT Thursday.  The theme this week is 'tree-mendous' so we want to see trees or leaves on your cards.  I was wondering what to do at first then realised I had an image coloured up and ready to go.  It's one of the LOTV christmas stamps and this one decorating the christmas tree fits the theme perfectly and it means I've got another christmas card ready to go.  Well the rate August is zipping by I think I need to start now, don't you?!

It's all very simple (can't seem to make any other kind at the moment!) and I've used non christmas papers but thought the stars tied in nicely with the ones in the image and I had to use my Viva decor pearl pen again for the silver half pearls as I'm determined to try and get them to look rounder.  These ones don't look too bad and I think it's easier when they're bigger blobs.  and yes, that is indeed a peel off wording in the corner (got stacks of the stuff so thought I may as well and try to use them in small doses)

Colouring: Copics with distress stickles 'picket fence', in the hat fur trim for bit of texture and Viva holographic glitter liner in the stars for sparkle

Paper:American crafts 'everyday' with green cardstock and some silver mirri card for matting and layering

Tools: star punch, chain punch, photo corner punch and tracing wheel for faux stitching holes and silver gel pen for the stitches

Others: Viva Decor Pearl pen in Chrome silver, peel off wording!

CCT 'whateva': Take it Easy

Hello and a happy Thursday to you all.  It's CCT time again and this week is nice & easy . . 'whateva' - meaning it's open theme, so you can make whatever you like.  Which if like me, you're pressed for time is just perfect.  I'll be needing some boy  birthday cards soon so thought I'd ink up this cute Elzybells ted and make a quick card.

He didn't take long to colour in as I paper pierced his armchair.  The circular birthday seal is a fab set from Whimsy stamps then it was just some fuzzy brads and EK success pawprint border punch to finish.

Not really much to it I'm afraid but if you hop on over to CCT I'm sure the rest of the team will wow you with their efforts, especially as for the whole month of Aug I've invited Debby to be our guest DT and her 3D creations are always fab :)
