WoJ Aug POM: wedding favours

"Pinch & a punch"! It's the 1st of the month, so time for another Project of the Month over on Whiff of Joy. Our task this month was to make a wedding favour (those little boxes you fill with sugared almonds or some other sweet/candy, that are given to guests - maybe different name/tradition depending what country you're reading this in!!). This is what I came up with . .
floral frame I have used around photo is from Xtina (thanks to Camilla - love how her photos look!)

For mine I've made the box following the tutorial I found on the Scorpal website here (using a piece of A4 DP). Really, really simple and just perfect for a few little sweets etc (only measures 2.5" across). You then just decorate as you wish - all I've done is add the image, couple of paper roses and tied with ribbon.

Here's a few more shots of it from either side (couldn't decide which was better so you get both shots :)) and you can just about see how the 2 sides bend over and are tied with ribbon too.

The colours are actually more cream and pewter grey IRL but the photos make it look more yellow & brown!

I wanted a soft vintage look and the image to look like a 'blk & white' photo so just coloured with shades of grey Copics. Then I inked edges with 'antique linen' distress ink and stamped a few floral bits around edges. Image cut out with 'Labels 1' Nesties and matted onto pewter metallic card. Here's a close up of image;

I used 2 ribbons to tie the top together (1 gold, 1 pewter) and experimented by tying each one into a bow seperately - loved how it turned out but not sure I could repeat it again, think it was fluke LOL

Don't forget to check out the POM gallery for some fantastic creations by the rest of the DT.

Have a super Saturday (just wish it'd stop raining!) and thank you for all the lovely comments.
