Sugarbowl christmas: Gorjuss winter wishes

Was really struggling to get started on anything when finally had a Eureka moment yesterday and combined Ismaki sketch with the extra option of brown & red (last week's one, as I've taken sooo long!) with the Sugar Bowl challenge (christmas card).

Still not happy with the colouring (tights wrong colour!) but I had fun messing with lots of stamping and embossing which I've not done for a while and using lots of punches.

Stash:
  • Images: 'Gorjuss girl' (not sure of proper name as I got the kit) Sugar Nellie stamp from funky kits is the main image but have also used a Magnolia song sheet stamp over the 2 stripe bits of dp which have been embossed with gold (lot more texture and sheen IRL - too sunny today for a good photo) and the grungey flourish edges are from my fab Autumn leaves stamp set, 'on the edge' (this is 1 of my fave edges I think but I've yet to try out some of the other 8 stamps - 1 of my recent good buys!). Have stamped these around some of the edges - back piece with distress inks, the 2 around the image have been embossed with gold again.
  • Colouring: Copics
  • DP: BG Wassail
  • Others: MS branch punch (can you tell new toy at the moment?!!), flower made from cuttlebug flower dies. Button below the peel off (!!) sentiment made from shrink plastic after stamping a magnolia xmas seal stamp. Lace and lots of MS & Fiskars border punches (This MS one was from the states but they are now being distributed in the UK and The Hobby House have started to stock more - if you've already ordered recently you may want to check out Gill's post here and while you're there, check out her blog if you haven't already, it's fabulous)

Talking of The Hobby House I found they stocked a gorgeous new Fiskars border punch 'Apron Lace' on Sat and it arrived today so just had to try it out straight away and ended up using it for the inside :D which I don't normally do but I couldn't waste it, could I? . . . can see me using this one lots (so be warned!). You can see the flourish border better too and also how the front of my card is actually quite built up which you can't tell from the first photo.

O.K that's all for now. Off for some lunch and to enjoy the nice sunshine today (see Caryn, it didn't 'blow a hooly' for long - although it did knock our bin over last night!)

Hope it's nice where you are!

So imaginative. The sponging adds to the atmosphere of the card a treat. I LOVE dark cards. They invite you in to explore. now I'm off to have look at the Fiskars punch!
